At Bubba’s Junk Removal, my dad is having fun studying. In business it is important to make appointments and take care of people. “
– Bristol Calhoun, future CEO
PEARLAND, TX, UNITED STATES, Jun 4, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – There’s a culture here in Texas; People take the time to pause and pay attention to the essentials. They stop on the side of the road to help you change your tires or invite you for a sweet tea when you are around. There is a high value in people and a way of dealing with one another. Full of hard-working American workers, Texas is a growing economy that is attracting entrepreneurs from other states to start their businesses in the Lone Star State in hopes of increasing profits and a better quality of life. For Doug “Bubba” Calhoun, caring for others is not just a part of his life, but the common thread that holds his business together and makes it superior to other companies. Bubba’s Junk Removal is a southeast Texas company that is built on and growing on family values by serving one family and one business owner at a time.
Bubba, like many business owners, started his garbage disposal business from scratch with few resources. With the help and encouragement of his mother-in-law, Donna Lowery, he was able to take full advantage of his ’91 Ford Taurus and a borrowed van to make money transporting and recycling scrap metal. He had to get it working with the tools he had. Sadly, shortly after the business gained momentum, Donna lost her battle with cancer. Bubba continued to work day, night, and weekend to find jobs and build relationships, making scrap metal recycling a full-time job to build a business that would support his family. With an old, used truck, Bubba found a trailer in Hunstville that was still full of junk for sale and paid five hundred dollars to add it to his scrap metal recycling and future scrap removal business.
As Bubba’s Junk Removal grew, Bubba’s wife, Tammy Calhoun, took on the operational role of the office full-time. With her background in office management, Bubba had the support he needed to focus on the field work. At this point, Bubba switched from scrapper to business owner. Next, Bubba and his team worked on building the company’s brand, from logos to shirts. They have taken steps to be recognized as a household name in their service communities. While the core values stayed intact, the focus grew and shifted from making money every day to making a difference in the industry, leaving a lasting impact on every customer.
Rather than making a transaction, Bubba’s Junk Removal focuses on building lifelong customer relationships based on trust and quality service. Building a permanent business isn’t about making a dollar. It’s about making a brand. Today you will see the trucks on the streets of Texas serving customers, shaking hands, hauling trash, renting out dumpsters, and creating a culture of happier residents with cleaner homes and businesses.
Bubba’s Junk Removal serves Pearland, Houston, Friendswood, Katy and the surrounding area. Their group of professionals provide removal and transportation services for household garbage, office furniture, hot tubs, appliances, mattresses, and more. “This story is dedicated to Donna Lowery. Thank you for believing and seeing the value in me. What you have shown through your actions has carried over to our business because I have learned to find value in any job, even if it doesn’t look like it’s there on the surface. I wish you could see what we built today. ” ~ Bubba
