Sunbeam Targeted by Chinese Appliance Makers in Bid to Extend Trademark Use

Chinese trademark license holders are suing Sunbeam to prevent the Boca Raton-based company from ending a two-year contract to place the well-known brand name on microwave ovens, refrigerators and other household appliances.

Blank Rome filed the lawsuit against Sunbeam Products Inc. in the southern Florida district, and the case was assigned to U.S. District Judge Raag Singhal in Fort Lauderdale.
