Junk King, a national garbage disposal franchise, announced the new ownership of its Des Moines and Waterloo locations with a local group of companies, Ace Tunes LLC. Bret Tratchel, General Manager of Junk King Des Moines and Waterloo, will oversee day-to-day operations along with a crew of freight forwarders. The goal of the new owners is to “further strengthen relationships with the community and provide excellent customer service,” the company said in a press release. Tratchel has over 30 years of experience in the transportation industry as well as an in-depth knowledge of construction. Junk King, which provides residential and commercial services, bases its prices on the amount of garbage removed and recycles up to 60% of the garbage it collects instead of throwing it into landfill. “My team and I really value the work we do every day,” said Tratchel. “We are grateful that we can help the Des Moines and Waterloo communities keep items out of their landfills while reducing our overall impact on the environment.” According to the franchise website, Junk King was founded by two friends in a two-car garage in San Carlos, California in 2005 and began franchising in 2010. The company now has more than 100 franchise locations across North America. More information is available online at Junk King Des Moines and Junk King Eastern Iowa.
