Jerome’s Furniture Restructures Operations in Response to COVID-19 Quarantine

Jerome’s Furniture reports that it has restructured operations to ensure families continue to have access to items such as custom furniture, mattresses, home office and other furniture needed during the COVID-19 quarantine period and after.

To do this, the company had to reduce its workforce by around a third or 274 employees.

Additionally, every executive has voluntarily waived their entire salary since we closed business on March 19 under California’s Stay-at-Home regulation. Our extremely difficult and painful decision to say goodbye to many in our Jerome’s family was not an easy one, but it was necessary, ”said Brian Woods, CEO of Jerome’s Furniture. “We made these changes not only to stabilize our business during this uncertain time, but also to ensure that we never lose our focus on serving our valued customers, our Southern California neighbors, and the local communities in which we live and work, forego. “

About 50 percent of the layoffs came from the corporate headquarters and distribution center of Jerome’s Furniture. A quarter of the cuts were in branch staff, the rest came from the company’s sales force. In addition, Jerome’s Furniture will operate its distribution center and schedule deliveries five instead of seven days a week.

“We look forward to reopening all of our showrooms and Dream Shop locations if it is deemed safe to do so. In the meantime, we continue to fulfill orders through our website and digital presence, ”said Woods.
