On Jan. 27, Hankook Tire announced a pilot contract with Revvo Technologies, a Silicon Valley-based company specializing in advanced smart tire technology and predictive data analysis, and Junk King, North America’s top rated green waste collection and transportation company.

This pilot program will integrate Hankook Tire’s SmartFlex tires with the latest in tire technology and Revvo’s advanced data analysis product suite to provide critical tire-specific data for 30 percent of Junk King’s vehicles currently operated in California.

“It is crucial for our operation that our trucks remain in pristine condition. This is the key to the world class customer service we promise to each and every one of our customers, ”said Michael Andreacchi, CEO and Co-Founder of Junk King. “We are excited to be at the forefront of this intelligent tire pilot program and having access to tire data for our trucks will help us continue to stand out in the garbage disposal industry.”

As a leader in the garbage disposal industry, Junk King has a large fleet of vehicles in the US and Canada that require high levels of safety, uptime, and operational efficiency. Understanding the tires plays a key role in meeting these requirements. Hankook Tire explores innovative ways to improve TBR products at all levels to provide customers with the best performance in terms of mileage, safety and durability. SmartFlex is Hankook’s TBR range of multi-purpose hybrid segment tires designed for high fuel efficiency and powerful traction.

While telematics and fleet management software are already used in many fleets today, fleet managers traditionally have no visibility with tires. Revvo offers immense value in filling that void. Revvo’s advanced tire detection platform integrates a proprietary sensor into every tire on a vehicle and collects real-time tire data. This data is processed and turned into actionable insights, including predicted tread life, abnormal tire behavior, optimal intervals and settings for tire maintenance, and real-time alerts.

Sunjay Dodani, CEO of Revvo, says: “One of our main goals is to keep drivers safe on the road. We’re excited to be working with Hankook to give a fleet like Junk King an insight into how their tires are being used. When we see this help prevent major incidents, we trust our shared vision of smart, connected tires for every vehicle on the road. “

“At Hankook, we know that great products must be combined with advanced technology to provide our dealerships and fleets with real-time solutions such as improved safety and reduced downtime to increase fleet productivity,” added Rob Williams, VP of Truck and Bus, Radial Sales at Hankook Tire USA. “As we continue to drive our product innovation and technology, this is the next logical step in providing real-time data to fleets. This is achieved by working closely with our dealer network as these digital solutions evolve.”
