Firefighters Battle Attic Fire At Empty West Los Angeles Home

WEST LOS ANGELES, CA – Firefighters battled flames in the attic of an empty house early Wednesday in West Los Angeles.

It took firefighters about 24 minutes to attack and put down the fire on 2206 South Greenfield Avenue near West Olympic Boulevard, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Nobody was injured.

The fire was reported around 10:05 a.m. in the attic of the vacant, single-story home, Humphrey said.

The house was built and renovated in 1927, he said.

The cause of the fire was investigated.
