Danbury FD battles attic fire on Golden Hill Lane

DANBURY – City firefighters quickly put out an attic fire on Golden Hill Lane on Thursday evening, according to initial shipping reports.

Units were dispatched to 17 Golden Hill Lane on Golden Hill Road at around 7:20 p.m. after neighbors called 911 to report smoke and flames from a chimney on Golden Hill Lane.

The first arriving units confirmed an active chimney fire in a 1.5-story house.

Local firefighters reported smoke from several areas of the roof. Units inside confirmed a working fire in the attic at around 7:35 p.m.

“I think we put down most of the fire, but we have to overtake a lot,” confirmed an on-site firefighter at 7.40pm
