Bridgeport house fire contained to attic

BRIDGEPORT – A fire on Colony Street has been contained in an attic and no one has been evicted, fire officials said Tuesday.

Firefighters answered Colony Street at 1:48 p.m. after calling multiple times about a possible structural fire.

Arriving units found the house at 87/89 Colony Street and reported a light smoke from the roof, according to Lance Edwards, the assistant fire chief.

The residents of the house were already outside when the firefighters were on site. Edwards said the fire was quickly contained in the attic of the house.

No residents were evicted and there were no injuries.
