Appliance firm is planning distribution space in Lancaster

A global equipment company plans to occupy storage space in Lancaster.

Fisher & Paykel has submitted plans for a nearly 120,000 square foot distribution center in Park 20/35 Industrial Park on Interstate 20.

The New Zealand-based equipment company plans to move to the space at 3500 N. Houston School Road later this year, according to the state.

Fisher & Paykel is a unit of the China-based Haier Group and manufactures a wide variety of home appliances including refrigerators, dishwashers, washers and dryers, ovens, stoves and hobs.

The equipment company already had a location in the Park 20/35 industrial park together with Quaker Foods, BMW and NFI Logistics.

The business park on the south side of I-20 is marketed by Holt Lunsford Commercial and has more than 4 million square feet of storage space.

The Fisher & Paykel project is just the latest addition to warehouse users in this area in southern Dallas County. FedEx, Amazon and Mars Petcare recently rented large retail spaces in the region.
